# Beginner's Guide

Welcome to MineRaze! This guide will walk you through your first steps on the server and help you hit the ground running.

***

### Before You Join: Enable the Resource Pack

When connecting to MineRaze for the first time, make sure to **enable the server resource pack** when prompted. Without it, custom items, pets, cosmetics, and mounts won't display correctly. It's a large part of what makes the server look and feel unique.

> If the resource pack isn't loading correctly, check the **Resource Pack** wiki page for troubleshooting steps.

***

### Step 1: Exit the Tutorial & Speak to The Wild Robot (/wild)

When you first join, you'll be placed in a short tutorial. Work through it and exit when prompted. Once out, look for **The Wild Robot** — speak to him to officially begin your adventure on the server.

***

### Step 2: Vote & Enable Keep Inventory (/vote)

One of the first things you should do is **vote for the server**. Type **/vote** in-game to open the voting links. Each link you vote on gives you **3 hours of Keep Inventory**, meaning you won't lose your items when you die.

By voting on all links every day, you can keep Keep Inventory active permanently — which is extremely valuable as a new player still finding your footing.

Voting also rewards you with in-game money and other bonuses, making it one of the easiest free daily tasks you can do.

> Check your remaining Keep Inventory time with **/keepinv**.

***

### Step 3: Explore Spawn (/spawn)

Take some time to explore spawn before heading out into the world. It's much larger than it looks and is home to dozens of NPCs, merchants, and quest givers. Many of the server's core systems are all accessible from spawn — including the /**Forge** for crafting heirloom gear, the **Stables** where you can manage your pets and mounts, the **Archaeology hub** to get started with excavation, the **Dungeon portal room** to queue for dungeons, and more.

> Not sure where something is? Type **/warps** to open a menu of all available warp points and teleport directly to any area on the server.

Look for NPCs with a question mark (?) above their heads — these have quests available. Many of the best early-game quests are found simply by wandering around and talking to people.

> Use **/spawn** at any time to return to spawn from anywhere in the world.

***

### Step 4: Join a Job (/jobs)

Jobs are your primary source of income on MineRaze. Open the jobs menu with **/jobs** and join one that suits your playstyle. As a new player you can join **1 job** — unlocking more becomes possible as you progress through ranks.

| Job | How you earn |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| Miner | Breaking stone and ores |
| Farmer | Harvesting and planting crops |
| Woodcutter | Chopping and planting trees |
| Hunter | Killing monsters and animals |
| Fisherman | Catching fish |
| Builder | Placing blocks |
| Digger | Terraforming the overworld |
| Smelter | Smelting ores and blocks |
| Cook | Crafting and cooking food |
| Sorcerer | Brewing potions and enchanting |
| Crafter | Crafting materials and items |
| Dungeoneer | Killing monsters in dungeons and adventure zones |

Jobs pay out every minute based on what you've done during that interval. Your income also increases by +1% for every job level you gain, so it pays to stick with your job and level it up over time.

> Use **/jobs stats** to track your progress and **/paycheck** to view your earnings.

***

### Step 5: Pick Up Quests (/quests)

Quests are one of the best sources of money and currency in the game, with over **500** available. Open the quest menu with **/quests** to see your active daily and weekly quests.

Three **Daily Quests** become available each day, and three **Weekly Quests** reset every Monday. Completing Daily Quests consecutively builds a streak that increases your rewards over time, so try to stay consistent.

Beyond the quests menu, many more quests can be found by exploring spawn and talking to NPCs.

***

### Step 6: Understand Your Currencies

MineRaze has 3 main currencies and it's worth understanding them early:

**Money** is the primary in-game currency earned from jobs, quests, minigames, and selling items. It's used for town development, purchasing items from player shops, and progressing through ranks.

**Crowns** are a premium cross-season currency. They carry over between seasons and never reset. You can earn Crowns for free through voting, completing Achievements, and from other players — or purchase them directly from the store. They're used to buy items at **/warp crowns** and on the Auction House.

> 100 Crowns = 1 EURO. You can send Crowns to other players at spawn with **/crowns pay (player) (amount)**.

**Heirloom Currencies** are physical items used to craft and unlock powerful heirloom gear at the Forge (**/forge**). There are five tiers, each used for progressively more powerful items:

| Currency | Tier |
| -------------- | --------- |
| Malachite | Common |
| Moonstone | Rare |
| Veiled Crystal | Epic |
| Titan Key | Legendary |
| Crimson Ruby | Divine |

You'll start encountering Malachite and Moonstone fairly early from Artifact Caches, quests, dungeons, and crates. Higher tier currencies come from more advanced content. Don't spend them carelessly — they're used for some of the best gear on the server.

***

### Step 7: Claim Some Land (/town help)

Once you've earned some money, consider creating a town to protect your builds and set up a base.

Type **/town create (name)** to found your town — it's free! Once created, use **/claim** to claim the chunk you're standing in. Claimed land protects your builds and items from other players.

You can level up your town by depositing money with **/town deposit (amount)** and then **/town level**. Higher town levels unlock more claims and the ability to invite more members.

> Press **F3+G** to see chunk borders and plan your claims more easily.

***

### Step 8: Progress Your Rank (/ranks)

As you play and earn money, you'll be able to progress through the server's in-game rank system. Higher ranks unlock new features, additional job slots, access to the End dimension, and much more. Use **/ranks** to see the full list and what each rank requires.

Ranks are a core part of progression on MineRaze — many systems open up the further you advance.

***

### Step 9: Learn About Artifacts (/artifacts)

As you play, you'll start receiving **Artifact Caches** automatically from breaking blocks, killing mobs, and catching fish. These contain **Artifacts** — special consumable items with unique effects, from buffs and boosts to utility tools.

Don't throw them away! Open Artifact Caches to see what's inside, or save them for when you need a boost. You can view your current artifact drop rate booster with **/artifact**.

***

### **Step 10: Customize Your Character (/cosmetics)**

We have an extensive cosmetics system that lets you personalize how your character looks. This includes hats, cloaks, backpacks and more.

Open the cosmetics menu with **`/cosmetics`** to browse and equip what you have.

**Cosmetics are obtained** from the **Cosmetics Shop** `/warp cosmetic`, **Cosmetic Crate**, special **events**, **crates**, **dungeons**, **archaeology** and **seasonal content**. They're purely visual and don't affect gameplay - but they're a big part of expressing your personality on the server.

***

### **Step 11: Decorate Your Builds (/warp furniture)**

We have a custom furniture system that lets you place decorative items inside your builds — chairs, tables, shelves, lamps, and much more. Visit **`/warp furniture`** to browse the full catalogue and see what's available. They're placed like regular blocks and can make your home, town, or shop feel genuinely lived-in.

***

### Step 12: Try a Dungeon (/dg)

Once you're feeling more established, dungeons are a fantastic way to earn powerful loot, heirloom items, and keys. Head to **/dg** to reach the dungeon portal room.

**Normal dungeons** are designed for early to mid-game players and are a great introduction to group PvE. Dungeons activate when players collectively contribute materials to **Leif the Explorer** in the Hall of Fame, or automatically every 2 hours.

Bring your best gear, team up with other players, and take down the boss at the end for keys and loot.

***

### Step 13: Discover Archaeology (/warp arch)

As you progress, keep an eye out for the **Archaeology system** — one of MineRaze's most unique features. By performing normal activities like digging, mining, woodcutting, and hunting, you can uncover rare drops that unlock exclusive pets, cosmetics, mounts, and heirlooms.

Each branch requires either a **dedicated archaeology tool** or a **special infusement or enchantment** applied to your existing tools in order to uncover archaeology drops — you won't find anything with a regular tool. Visit **/warp arch** to learn what each branch needs and get started.

There are four branches in total:

* ⛏️ **Digging** — Excavate sand and dirt blocks with a Fossil Finder tool or shovel
* 🌳 **Woodcutting** — Chop trees with an archaeology axe or Temporal Infusement
* 🐘 **Hunting** — Hunt custom wildlife roaming naturally across Elysium, Olympus, and the Resource World
* ⛏️ **Mining** — Mine stone with a special pickaxe or the Geode Seeker Infusement

It's a long-term system, but the rewards are some of the most unique on the server and completing all four branches ties directly into the **Achievement system**.
